PH: Kaiko the Zubat

Yep, I said I wouldn't join any more groups anymore. But guess I still couldn't help trying out for this one. ;u;
Heck, Pokémon and Kingdom Hearts? YES PLEASE. I haven't played any KH in a while, but maybe this will get me excited over it again. XD _{Suddenly I feel like playing Days and restarting it. Hmm.. Maybe at some point.}

I.. Was supposed to reply to my note RPs a few days ago but.. I just got so inspired with this guy I just couldn't stop working on his app. |'3 Don't worry, I'll get to them ASAP now that this is done! _{Though I DO have to finish that one comic for SSD too before Halloween. Whoops. Time, why can't I stop you, even for a while?}
And I hope those extra refs are okay.. I can take them off too if we are only supposed to have the one full-body pic. Just tell me if I should do that. ^^''

But THIS will be last group I'll join, I'M SURE. ;U; I had been wondering if there would be a living KH/Pokémon crossover anyways.
And the character.. I really went nuts with him. I didn't originally mean him to be THIS nuts, but as I drew him more, he just turned out that way. I hope he's not too crazy for the group. |D

(Exactly what it sounds like. He swiftly moves up to the opponent and bites them, sucking their blood.. Yuck. Not necessarily from their neck, though, he's not a "typical vampire"! BUT he can also use his Keyblade for the attack as it would suck, not blood, but life force from the opponent. I guess that this is more likely nowadays that he has a magical weapon..)

(He creates odd, high pitch sound waves from his mouth. They can barely be heard but they do mess with the opponent's mind enough to confuse them.)

LIKES:
Cinnamon. Especially on cinnamon rolls.
Jumping around, hiding, pulling off 'suprise attacks'. Playing ninja in general.
Strange noises. And I don't mean your rypical slams and bangs, but really strange noises. Sounds he has no idea what made them. They're funny. : D
People who play along with him! Of course, he has his own depiction of the world, but when he wants to just play, he loves it when people also play along!
Rainy days. It so cool! People say it's easier to hide in rain, sooo.. _{And it makes him cleaner, LoL. Except his shoes.}
Christmas carols! It was the only music he really got to hear at the shelter. And they are always such happy tunes! He loves to coming up with silly lyrics to those melodies and singing them as he wanders around. |'D
Having people try to explain things a blind person can't undertand. Like colours.

DISLIKES:
Samurais. (His depiction of 'evil people'. If someone gives him a really bad first impression, he is likely to mark the person as a samurai and that mark is reeeeeally difficult to lose. Luckily he's blind so you can just try again 'as someone else')
Too serious people. (Meaning people who get mad at him when he suddenly jumps onto their back from a tree as a game. Those who can't take a joke.)

Overall, he's a really positive guy, not many things get to him, as you can see. |D He can't see anything, so he can't dislike a certain colour nor bright lights. He just is pretty happy-happy-joy-joy if nothing dangerous is around.

PERSONALITY:
A real-life nut. He honestly and truly thinks he is a ninja by the name of 'Kaiko'. He can often be seen hopping around (with the help of his wings) on the rooftops, hiding in the shadows (or where he thinks there are shadows, he might just as well be in plain sight, but in his head he thinks he has an amazing hiding spot) and keeping an eye on people. Or.. So he thinks. As you may see from the app, he is blind, not just because of the blindfold, but legitly blind. But he can navigate his surroundings with his high-pitched squeaks and sonar. He has been that way ever since he was born so he has no idea what 'colours' are nor what everything looks like. In his mind, things are a bit wacky. People say tree leaves are green? In his mind.. They are rainbow. In a way he can't imagine colours, but in a way he can imagine them better than any human being. He doesn't know what humans look like either. He knows the basic shape, thanks to his sonar, but details are hazy. That goes for everything. He has his own headcanon of things. And more often than not.. His insanity tricks him into believing the craziest things about his surroundings. Yes, he has an unlimited imagination when his eyes aren't there to crash it all.

But about his ninja-tendencies.. He loves to hide somewhere, especially in trees, use his sonar -which others really can't hear unless they have a really good hearing- or just his own hearing, wait for someone to approach and just suddenly leap at them as he yells something like "NINJABAT-STRIKE!" or "NINJABAT-KICK!" -though never in attempt to hurt-. Not really ninja-like and quiet? Well, that is his playful side. When he knows everything is safe and well, he is playful and happy, but if he knows there is danger around, like a monster, he turns more legit ninja in his manner. He is quiet, swift and.. Dangerous. No more hopping on people's backs and yelling like a child. He actually isn't aware of the fact he can fly. He subconsciously uses his wings when he jumps, because of which he can really 'leap' across the town, but he doesn't realise he's flying, he just thinks that he is such an epic ninja that he could jump that far. Though because of that.. He can't always control himself perfectly. His jumps aren't usually too short, but at times he might 'overdo' it and end up missing the place he wanted to land on. And still, he doesn't realise he can just use his wings to fly backwards to the spot he wanted to get to..

He is rather sociable, he wouldn't hop on people's backs if he wasn't! He loves to play random games with people. He doesn't need to know the person, he doesn't discriminate as to him all people are equal. Except Samurais. He might get a bit lost in large crowds because of his blindness, though. When there are people EVERYWHERE moving all the time, sonar isn't much help anymore. So he just bumps onto everyone. OTL


Oh, and he can speak Japanese. HAHAHA. Not really. He just thinks he can. In his brain he thinks he is native in Japanese, he even has an entire language in his mind that he can speak fluently, but.. It's not Japanese. It's just something his mind made up when it thought he was Japanese but realised he knew no other language but English.
So if he meets someone who CAN speak Japanese.. "Nonononoo, that's wrong! That's not Japanese! This is Japanese: *Random slur of syllables that make no sense* You hear?!"
Also.. Everyone who is evil, he refers to as a 'samurai'. Why? Well, that is why the History is there.

HISTORY:
Kaiko actually originally lived on the world of Hollow Bastion. He was born to a typical family and was named Kaire, but there was always something strange about him. He was born as metally retarded and blind (Possibly because of the fact he's a Zubat? Would he be able to see if he evolved? Who knows!), because of which he developed a rather.. Unigue world-image. He always had that 'I reject your reality and substitute my own' -attitude _{(Hoho, MythBusters-reference.)} and lived in a bit of a fantasy world. If you tell him a fact, he might either completely dismiss it or then later on have it become a part of his inner canon, though usually in a really mangled way. At first his parents didn't really mind it much, they acted like the parents of any mentally retarded child's parents would, love the child and just do their best. His father loved to play with the child and he had a love for ninjas and samurais. So the two would have play-fights where the son would be a sleek ninja and the father a strong samurai..Huge mistake; that game really got stuck in his brain. He eventually thought he really was a ninja, Kaiko, even if he didn't know exactly what one was, his mind just filled in all the blanks that didn't come up in the games he played with his father.
Later on he tried attending a school, but there was not much anyone could do. He was blind, so he had no idea where he was. If he was in a classroom with a lot of tables, he would think the tables were trees and the fellow students were fellow ninjas and samurais. Then he would attack the samurais.. And eventually his parents no longer could take it and he was given away to a shelter for mentally disabled children. They tried to help him, but no, the ninja-fantasy was to deep in his mental code. So he stayed in the said shelter for many, many years, held most of the time in a small cell-like room where he lived alone with his fantasies as the personnel feared he might be dangerous to the other children. Not to mention the fact there were barely any furniture as they feared the blind Zubat might also hurt himself. And when there was nothing around, his imagination took flight. Now he was in a dense forest, now by the ocean. He didn't know what an ocean really looked like, but he still had some kind of a strange image in his mind.
He DID get to meet the other children there much later on, when he started to mature and not think everyone was a ninja or a samurai, when the idea of 'civilians' started to make its home in his head. That was the time when he was able to learn a lot about the world around him. That was the time he refers to as the "Time in the Ninja sanctuary", in his mind a large building where young ninjas from around the world would be brought to learn the art of fighting evil.
People at the shelter started to feel that maybe he was not such a difficult patient anymore, it just took him a few years in the imaginary forests to grow up a bit.

But sometime after he turned 17, his homeworld started to be filled with the creatures people called 'Shadows'. He just acknowledged the Shadows as evil samurais of the darkness. What is darkness? What is light? He has no idea, but in his mind, samurais are the warriors of darkness and evil. Ninjas then again are the warriors of light and thus good. He never came face-to-face with the Shadows, but he did feel their effects when people at the shelter spoke of them, usually really quietly if any of the children were around. Things really started to heat up as the monsters just kept appearing in greater numbers, so the people at the shelter finally had to contact the old families of the children, they can not evacuate all the children by themselves, they have no place to go. So the parents -the ones who still would be alive- should come and help by taking back their own children.
Kaiko did not register the two people as his parents, heck, he wasn't exactly sure what that even meant as he had lived all his life 'in a forest'. But the two parents, though heartbroken, did not wish to leave the child's side. So they acted along with the boy's own memory in order to get him to safety.
They set off for Traverse Town.
But during the journey, they were attacked by Heartless. Their mode of transportation took massive damage and they had to resort to using the 1-person emergency capsules of the space ship. One for each. They were not meant for people traveling with mentally unstable children, no, but it was the only way.
Kaiko's landed exactly where it was meant to land. Where did the two others go to? Who knows. Maybe they are there too but something happened to the two adults on board? Or perhaps they were again attacked and thrown off course. Maybe they are alive, maybe not.

But our focus is on the son, not the parents.
Yes. Bulbie knows what happened to them. But that really is a story for another day. You probably will not be seeing those two ever. Probably. Or maybe the father. Someday.

He woke up somewhere new. His mind blocked the recent events completely for the time being, as evertything he now could sense was so.. Different, so confusing. He used his sonar and everything felt different. It suddenly felt like he had been sleeping all his youth and finally woke up. He could actually feel the bark of a tree and the grass. Air smelled different everywhere he went. Someone saw the blind youth and walked up to him asking if he was looking for something. The Zubat just wondered. The question was not a malevolent one, then they must be either a civilian or a fellow ninja, so he could reply. "Hiii~. I dunno, where are we?" he just asked with a bright smile. "This is Traverse Town. I guess you are lost?" the person explained and led the Zubat to some of their friends so they could help the lost boy and so they taught him some things about the Town he now had come to. And for the first time in his life, he actually took the words to heart. The world was suddenly so much larger. He actually had to physically walk to move around, he could sense everything. The people though were only teens and had no proper way to help Kaiko, but somehow, the boy who had -in his mind- lived in forests all his life, really was quite capable of taking care of himself. Finding food from whereever dumbsters and sleeping where he found shelter paper recycling bins. And after being capable of surviving, the small group of youth accepted his will to live alone and let him hang around with themselves whenever he would be lonely.
He still thinks all that happened in his past, adventures in the forests and fights with samurais, was real even if it all was just inside his head. Now he just thinks this is a different world, like it is. If someone would ask where he came from, he would just say "The small forest of Nascer." No such place exists outside of his head, but he truly believes it does.
Now he just is that strange NinjaBat who patrols the rooftops of Traverse Town and plays strange tricks on unsuspecting people.
"THINK FAST!"

As for his Keyblade.. How did a young man this strange acquire something so powerful, so pure? Well.. Even if he is pretty much crazy, he still has a kind heart as well as a strong sense of right and wrong. When he a few years after his arrival heard the Guardians were looking for able people of any age to help in the battle against the Shadows, he was ecstatic. He just rushed on to those people, almost begging them to let him be a warrior too.
At first they were not sure if that was a good idea, considering the boy was young (20, but claimed to be 17), blind and not exactly the most, hehe, sane person in the town. But the Zubat was overflowing with enthusiasm when it game to fighting off evil. Although weird and homeless, he seemed oddly reliable. (No, they wouldn't know of his past and insanity, he is just a strange tramp to anyone in Traverse Town. |D ) He had been around for a while and people knew he was not malevolent. And there were younger people who were given the Keyblade, the sign of a warrior of light.
So they let the young wannabe ninja join the leagues and even provided him with his own team.
"Oh wow, I get to live in a HOUSE? Fan-ceeeh~."

ADDITIONAL INFO:
He's 5'3 tall. Not exactly a tall guy, I know. But at least this way he's less likely to break anyone's spine when he jumps down from a tree..
Some details about his clothes: The hood is a separate piece of clothing that is kept on by two straps that go under his arms. That way it won't fall when he hangs upside down from somewhere. The hood is really pretty large.
Then under the coat he has a long-sleeved turtleneck sweater and he can pull the collar over his face, all the way to his blindfold, and if he also has the hood up.. You really can't see anything of his face except for the messy strands of hair that stick out.
Sleeves of his jacket are detachable with zippers and underneath he would heave that black cloth wrapped around his arms up to his elbows, and from there up it's the sleeve of his black shirt.
And YES. That is a bicycle's outer tire tied onto his belt around his waist. He just thought it was cool and made it his second belt. |D No, he has no idea what it is. To him it's a neat, bendy hoop with a cool pattern.
His hair is usually a royal mess; unevenly cut chopped, full of knots and greasy. Heck, he's blind, how do you think he could keep it in control? He does though have that silly ponytail.. Only part of his hair that usually behaves nicely.
And yes, he loves to spend time outside, even if he now actually lives in a HOUSE thanks to becoming a 'Keyblade warrior', he still is mostly outside and after hopping around, climbing in trees and crawling on the ground as well as usual blind-man's tumbling, he is pretty much always covered in dirt and dust, possibly has leaves stuck in his hair, and his hands.. Oh lord. He looks like he has been digging the ground for five days non-stop. They're full of timy cuts and dust and dirt under the nails. That.. Can't be healthy. Good thing he was prolly vaccined at the shelter. O_O
But he can't see any of it. He doesn't realise how much of a mess he is. XD
Under his blindfold, he does indeed have eyes. *LE GASP* But again, he prolly doesn't even know that because of being blind. Then again, even if he did, he prolly wouldn't care because.. It's not like he can see them anyways!
The eyes are really pale blue. Like ice. So his pupils (Which are stuck in the small size, don't react to light) really stand out. Such a piercing gaze.
Like you may notice on the app.. He really can stretch his mouth open WIDE. Like a Zubat or a snake.
He would have the same voice as Murdock from A-Team (Dwight Schultz). Yes, the voice of a mad character.. For a mad character.

But he still loves to hum and sing random songs he would make up himself. Many of them to Christmas-song melodies as those were mostly played at the shelter, even if only at that one time of the year.
He loves cinnamon for some reason, both the taste and smell.. He never had it before Traverse Town, and when he did, BOY WAS HE ADDICTED. Cinnamon rolls. Need I say more?
He has no memory of his parents. He doesn't even understand that concept. He DOES though remember his father in a way; he thinks he is the Master Samurai, the king of all evil, his arch-nemesis who he was able to fight face-to-face years ago. Now he is uncertain if the Master Samurai is even alive, but thinks he is because 'Samurais' apparently still exist in his head.
But no, he doesn't acknowledge he has parents. If someone explained to him what a 'father' is and then he'd find out Master Samurai is his father, he'd prolly be shocked. |D
And with that, he doesn't really understand the concept of aging either. He thinks that all short people are children and all tall people are adults. Age is a mysterious thing for him. He did though know his own age as the people in the shelter kept telling him it. But now, a few years later.. He still thinks he's of that age because people no longer were there to update his situation.
Nor does he know what a ninja exactly looks like. He does know they usually dress in dark clothes, so that people can't tell who they are. And that they're good at stealth and such.
And they're good guys. Everyone who is a good guy and not a civilian, in his mind, is a ninja. He thinks he's a 'classical ninja' and people like the police are 'modern ninjas'. Even his Keyblade Team members would be ninjas to him!
This is prolly really random, but... He would smell like ground. Imagine being pressed onto the ground at a children's playground. Sand, soil, mud, grass.. He can be such a clutz at times and constantly if falling over, making faceplants from a tree, etc. So yes. Food for imagination.
He also has a pet Zubat! Well, he doesn't really see it as a pet, but rather a friend. A small, blind-and-mute friend. ([link])
